Gay Marriage Watch:

Here's yet more evidence for why, as I argued in an earlier post, now is not the time to push for marriage rights in the courts.

The Washington Blade has a story about the efforts of the Arlington Group, a coalition of conservative religious leaderns, to get Bush serious about supporting the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment that would ban gay marriage. A sternly-worded letter sent by the group to the president warns:
“Is he prepared to spend significant political capital on privatization but reluctant to devote the same energy to preserving traditional marriage? If so, it would create outrage with countless voters who stood with him just a few weeks ago, including an unprecedented number of African-Americans, Latinos and Catholics who broke with tradition and supported the president solely because of this issue.”
